in 2026, it will be 15 years since the terrorist attacks on the government quarter and the aug summer camp on utøya. many of those affected were around 15 years old. what motivated the young people who went to utøya? what issues mattered to them? and what matters to 15-year-olds today?

politically engaged youth

director tatu hämaläinen and dramaturg ingrid weme nilsen, together with playwright kathrine nedrejord, have spoken with survivors and bereaved families affected by the terrorist attacks. they have explored what motivated young people to attend a political summer camp. just as importantly, they have spoken with politically engaged young people today, across party lines, asking many of the same questions: what are you concerned about? what inspires your engagement? which issues matter most to you?

norwegian contemporary history

the teenagers and young adults share stories of engagement, joy, community, hope, celebration, first love, swimming, and sunsets. closely intertwined are stories of fear, suffering, anger, pain, and grief.
